Marlene Mable Campbell

Marlene Mable Campbell was born on March 1st, 1938, in Ovid, Colorado, the daughter of Gilbert Ulysses Sampson and Elsie Iola Lammers Sampson. Marlene had three siblings, Mervyn Sampson, Sandra Gravel, and Gilbert (Gibby) Sampson. She had four children: William Campbell III and his wife Jan Campbell, Janet St. Peter and her husband Shawn St. Peter, Randy Campbell, and Kimberly Campbell-May. She has 11 grandchildren: William, Chris, Andy, Stephanie, Sandra, Ryan, Kevin, Nolan, Nicole, Michael, and Tyler. She also had 8 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, 15 nieces and nephews, and her beloved kitty Cinnamon. In 1956 she married William John Campbell Jr. In Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and they were married for 44 years. She spent her married life in San Francisco, Ca., Santa Rosa, Ca., and Rohnert Park, CA, where her and her husband Bill raised their four children. Later in life she lived in Windsor, CA, Prescott, Az. and Roseville, Ca. where she made many friends and belonged to several organizations throughout the years. In 1982 Marlene started working for the Electrical Union – IBEW Local 551 where she was the pension and welfare administrator in Santa Rosa California for almost 19 years when she retired in 2001. Some of Marlene's passions were quilting, sewing, crafting, antique cars and shopping. She loved playing multiple card games, pinochle being among her favorites. Later in life, she also enjoyed playing Animal Crossing on her switch with her granddaughters. Marlene and her late husband Bill also shared a great passion for Lake Tahoe that they enjoyed with family and friends. They had an affinity for Hot Air Balloons, and vintage cars in which they belonged to many antique car clubs and had the pleasure of touring all through the beautiful vineyards of Healdsburg, Calistoga, Carmel, Sonoma and Napa County. She was fortunate to travel and see the world with her family and friends. Some of her favorite trips that she often talked about were, a cruise through The Panama Canal, a trip to Italy, Germany, Australia, Hawaii, New York, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Yosemite, Disneyland trips, and so many others that she cherished. Marlene was greatly loved and cherished by many. She will forever remain in our hearts.
