Vincent Albert Anicich Sr

Vincent Albert Anicich Sr was born to Albert and Barbara Gayel (McCutcheon) Anicich on August 18th 1958 in Sacramento CA, the second of six children. He was raised in Rancho Cordova CA, attended St John Vianney Catholic School, graduated from Cordova High School and attended California State University, Sacramento. He met his bride of nine days and 36 years, Tonya, at the California State Fair and went on to raise five children, Vincent (Eugênia), Natasha, Vanessa, Nathaniel (Janaína), and Austin, in Rocklin CA. He retired from the information technology field having worked for the State of California at numerous agencies including The Department of Health Care Services and Caltrans. He enjoyed baseball, camping, golf, and traveling with friends and family. Vinnie celebrated 35 years of sobriety this past November. As an active friend of Bill, he was a speaker, sponsor, mentor and friend. He worked the program for 35 years and his life reflected it. Vinnie had an encounter with God 35 years ago and he never looked back. His faith was the cornerstone of his life and poured out of him, whether on the golf course or fiercely loving his grandchildren. Vinnie was an authentic and engaged follower of Christ and a lover of people, all people. He was active in his church; and had an especially fervent prayer life. If you knew Vinnie, it is probable he was praying for you. He served in youth ministries, small groups, youth camps and was an unofficial, yet highly active greeter, going out of his way to make new faces feel welcome and familiar faces feel loved. In addition to his wife and their five children, Vinnie is survived by five grandchildren: Henry (13), Roman (11), Jaylynn (9), Sonya (7), and Theodore (1); his five siblings: Mike (Jeanne), Chris (Sally), Melinda Lewis (Ty), Kerry Kenney, and Cindy Abercrombie; his in-laws Bob and Murriel Oles, who have held a special place in his heart; and sisters-in-law Robyn Berkler (Mark) and Lorri Vitense. He is also survived by a large extended family including his aunts Dorris Vota and Jackie McCutcheon, and his uncle Donald Long. “Uncle” Vinnie enjoyed a plethora of extended family members, including 22 nieces and nephews; 16 great nieces and nephews, 12 cousins, and many many friends.
