Sara Jean DeGregorio

Sara Jean DeGregorio, age 30, passed away unexpectedly in Roseville, CA., on 1/22/24. Sara was born in San Antonio, TX on Sept. 22, 1993 to Valerie Jean Wiebe and Michael William DeGregorio. Sara attended Granite Bay High School where she participated in track and field and adored her friends. She was a sensitive and compassionate friend whose sharp wit always kept her friends laughing. She always seemed to know when those around her needed a kind word or a hug. Sara graduated from Granite Bay High School in 2011 and went on to study psychology at Santa Barbara City College. It was here that she developed a love of the ocean and a passion for the outdoors. She spent her free time travelling and learning to surf and scuba dive. She enjoyed going to Mexico, Costa Rica, Honduras, and the Turks and Caicos. Through her travels she found her faith and appreciation for life. Santa Barbara is also where she met the father of her twins, Steven Hammer. In 2014, they welcomed into the world, Ethan Edward and Cali Jean Hammer who were born in Roseville, CA. Sara was a devoted mother and spent her time with them hiking, biking, and going to the movies. Playful and compassionate, she would spoil them with gifts and treats and they would endlessly laugh and giggle as she gave them their favorite “airplane rides.” Sara had good customer service skills and worked as a hotel receptionist, medical receptionist and sales representative for a variety of companies. Continuing her education, she went on to take classes at Seirra College in Rocklin, CA and was completing her phlebotomy certificate just prior to her passing. Sara is survived by her mother and stepfather, Valerie Wiebe Howard and James Howard, father and stepmother, Michael W. DeGregorio and Chiao DeGregorio, siblings Michael John DeGregorio, Tess DeGregorio, Tony DeGregorio, step-siblings Jennifer and Bradley Howard and her children, Ethan and Cali Hammer. A Celebration of Life will be held 2/24/24 at 10:30 at the Murray Family Funeral Chapel, 4147 Rocklin Road, Rocklin, CA. 95677 followed by a reception at 12:00 at Rubino's Ristorante, 5015 Pacific Street, Rocklin, CA., 95677.
